Due to its inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, ginger is one of the best when it comes to treating colds and flu.
There are many ways to ingest ginger when healing colds and flu. Let us look at some of them and expound on one particular method that works well for me.
Recommendations are given based on my best practices, so be sure to get the best from my experience. All these ways do work because I have tried them during my cold and flu episodes.
- Fresh ginger with coconut water.
- Chewing pieces of fresh ginger root.
- Mixing fresh ginger to juices and smoothies.
- Hot lemon water and freshly grated ginger- My most recommended way of treating colds and flu is this 😊.
Grated ginger(I use my thumb to determine the size of the fresh ginger), 1 cup hot water, and ½ lemon sliced.
Grate fresh ginger root and add to the hot boiled water in a cup.
Then add the freshly sliced lemon in the cup and stir.
Let the mixture temperature turn and get to warm then drink.
You can also let the ginger flakes settle at the bottom and drink or you can drink the ginger flakes all together.
You can also opt to take vitamin c and zinc supplements in the form of tablets to help in preventing colds and flu.
Supplements increase your body’s immunity and therefore helps prevent sickness.
